About the Client:

The client is a Fitness Instructor and runs her own fitness studio.

The Challenge:

The client had been losing money in her business for almost a year. The business had been very seasonal and she was feeling nervous about the nearing “dry months.” She had dozens of improvement ideas, but was jumping from one to another and was could not implement anything properly. She was feeling negative about herself, had neglected how she looked, and was quickly gaining weight due to her daily binge eating.

“My thoughts were on overdrive from the moment I woke up to the moment I finally fell asleep at night. In between fitness classes, I was continuously starting to do things from my many “to – do” lists that were constantly getting longer, not shorter, and more, not less. Every time I did something, another thought came to my mind, and I changed what I was doing. I was not completing anything. My eating habits got unhealthy, and I gained so much weight I felt ashamed to show up in my studio as a Fitness Instructor.”

Solution:

The client trusted almost solely on spontaneous referrals to get customers. First, a deliberate referral marketing system using “Open Door” days in her studio for the friends of current customers was created.

Marketing material demonstrating the effectiveness and results of the fitness classes was designed and used for local printed advertising. The client scheduled interesting content on her business FB page and quickly gained positive attention.

Because she had no email lists, her past and current client database was organized in an email marketing service, and customer friendly emails campaigns were created.

Last, a quarterly marketing plan she could handle herself was created, with a documentation system, so she could stay on track with what had been done, and what was the next thing to be done for creating the wanted outcome.

Results:

The client’s confidence boosted when new marketing campaigns brought new clients, and the documentation showed clearly what was working and how well. She could focus on completing the marketing tasks, because she had clarity on what they were and certainty how to do them. Marking the weekly marketing hours on her calendar helped her to stay consistent with her marketing efforts.

The client got 24 new customers in two months that typically were the worst business months of the year. Besides that, she closed 3 corporate clients, who signed up for an ongoing fitness program for their employees. Her business generated profits, instead of losing money.

Getting her days organized and getting rid of the constant chaos, the client lost 6 kg of body fat in three months. She kept in touch with her relatives again, and overall, felt she had gained back control of her life.
