If you recently were billed by EIG POWER, you might have been wondering what it has been about… At least I did!
As a result of searching for “EIG*POWER” and “EIG POWER” I learned that it’s IPower, a domain name registrar and webhosting service provider I have registered few domain names in the past, with automatic renewal.
It was a surprise to learn that the IPower company has changed their name because I don’t recall receiving any notification from IPower about the change to EIG POWER.
While searching the Internet, I learned that many others had problems in logging in to their IPower, now EIG Power, hosting accounts and domain name accounts, and there were some people experiencing automatic renewals for domain names they didn’t want to pay for any more, because of the change in the company name.
This was a good reminder for me to transfer my domains from my IPower/EIG power account to my domain account with NameCheap.com, which I can warmly recommend. NameCheap’s interface is very user-friendly and they don’t have any aggressive upsells, like some other domain registrars. NameCheap.com offers free domain transfer service, too.
And, if you are looking for a hosting account to host your domain and website, HostGator.com is my current favorite. It’s a fact that they have incredible good customer service! I love it that even if you are not in the US, you can get friendly and acknowledgeable help 24/7! I have three hosting accounts with HostGator… yes, I know, it might make sense to get a dedicated server
