What You Don’t Know about the BIG LIE

“The Big Lie” is a lie so outrageous the receiver will assume it cannot be a lie and, therefore, accept it as truth. This strategy has been used in political propaganda campaigns for decades.

What has that to do with you?

I don’t know.

What I know, though, is there is plenty of internal propaganda going inside your head, your mind — aka “The Big Trickster” — being the leader of it. Most probably, there is more than one active Big Lie campaign right now, swiftly run by the Big Trickster, sitting comfortably in its office, located next to the Headquarters of You.

Your Mind is Not You

To stay clear here, your mind is NOT you. Your mind is a part of you with a vital function of thinking thoughts (mentioning this because you, too, might have mistaken that your mind is you).

Your mind is just part of you, like your heart is a part of you, with a vital function of pumping blood though your circulation and producing and secreting blood pressure regulating hormones (which you might not have known before).

Like your heart, your mind must do its job or die. Your mind will think thoughts, no matter what.

How is Your Mind Being Taken Care Of?

Your body and all its parts, heart included, has its needs, which you provide in the form of nutrition, hydration, workout, rest, and a suitable environment. Your health and your ability to perform physically is greatly affected by how well you provide for your body’s needs and maintain it.

Your mind is not different. The quality of its performance, the thoughts that your mind thinks, is directly related to how you nourish it, give it sensible work, good workouts (meditation is powerful mind exercise) and sufficient rest. Environment, especially your social environment, contributes greatly to your mind’s wellbeing.

When you become aware your mind is not you, but a part of you, doing its own important job, you can start practicing mind management and conditioning, according to higher standards.

Remember, your mind is doing its best in the condition it is. Since your mind has been allowed, and most of the time, left alone to figure things out by itself, it performs as it does right now. It offers you thoughts that have been accepted before, because it has worked well enough: You are still alive; you survived. Your mind’s Big Lies are closely related to survival.

The Staggering Impact of the Big Lie

Understanding this is a BIG DEAL because…

The Big Lie run by your mind is costing you (and all the people you could be helping) A LOT. You are not taking opportunities for which you would be a good fit. You are procrastinating with decision making and in taking actions that would bring you forward. You are experiencing stress and frustration, because you don’t seem to get any closer to your big goals.

The impact of the Big Lies can be measured as people you did not reach with what you could have helped them. As sales that did not happen, as income that was lost. As valuable hours that were spent doing work and more work knowing that it will never end. As a lifestyle you are not living. As a yet another circle on your life’s timeline.

What Can You Do?

Then start asking if a thought your mind produces is true. Can you prove it is absolutely true?

If not, ask yourself, how would you FEEL without that thought? What would you choose to DO without that thought?
