They say that you need to increase your visibility to get more clients.

And it’s somewhat true, some of the time.

Except.

When your ideal clients are not visible to you.

Most business owners say they know who their ideal clients are… but don’t have those clients, or too few of them.

Why?

Because your ideal clients are not visible to YOU.

Here are 3 common symptoms of that:

#1 – Lack of Identifying Qualifiers

While you might be able to tell who your ideal clients are, e.g. “CEO’s who are too busy”, “Entrepreneurs struggling with too many ideas”, or “Moms who are stressed and tired”… you are not able to identify the ideal prospective clients WITHIN  your target audience.

Logically speaking you know that not every busy CEO, struggling entrepreneur or stressed mom is needing or wanting the solution you offer, as convenient as it would be.

But you don’t have the qualifiers that identify your ideal clients. Thus you end up talking to too many prospects that are not the best fit for your solutions. You might even end up  taking clients that are not the best clients to work with.

#2 – The ideal prospective clients don’t feel that you truly understand them.

I find that feeling rather justified. If we can’t identify the ideal prospective clients WITHIN our target audience, we can’t see what’s truly going on with them.

When you don’t understand someone, you can’t make them feel understood when you talk to them. They don’t understand how you could help them. So, they don’t hire you.

#3 – “I don’t know how to find my ideal clients.”  

If you can’t reach the right people, who want to create change that you can help them to create, and they are willing to pay you well for it… you need to go back to your drawing board.

Ask yourself: what am I really good at? What kind of problem does it solve?

The person who gets the biggest benefit from my help, in the quickest and easiest way, in what kind of current situation is she in?

After you have got clear on those aspects, you’ve got your “client seeing” spectacles on.

So, instead of seeking maximum visibility, place more effort on making your ideal prospective clients visible to YOU.
